This page is made up of recipes and ideas for the use of our products. Some of these ideas have come from customers that use the products often and write us to give their family favorites. We will continue to add to these ideas as the customers pass them on to us.

Fry Bread Tips:

A customer of ours from Ocean Shores, Harry Yanagimachi, used his air fryer for making our Fry Bread. For 5" to 6" discs, place in your fryer at 350 degrees for about 5 minutes. You can flip it over halfway through if uniformity is important to you but Harry said it was great just the way they came out. They are DELICIOUS!!

Butter Tips:

Hint for cutting in the butter: This was passed onto us by a customer. She puts the butter into the freezer for about 15 minutes and then uses a fine cheese grater to grate the butter over the mix. She then just stirs the grated butter into the mix evenly. Works very easy and saves lots of work cutting in the usual way with forks or knives.

Cobbler Tips:
Make cobbler with our Southern Butter Pecan Scone Mix - butter a 9X13 baking dish, pour 1 quart of sliced mixed fruit or peaches into dish, sprinkle with 2 TBLs flour. Mix scone as directed. Crumble scone mix over fruit. Drop several pats of butter around on the top. Bake at 375 degrees for 24 to 28 minutes or until golden brown. Serve cold or warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

You can also use the Cherry Almond Scone mix and use canned cherry pie filling to make a cobbler. Here is an picture of one we made! It tasted INCREDIBLE! Follow the instructions for the above cobbler. You can use the canned filling in place of the sliced fruit.

Also try the German Apple Scone Mix with 2 cans of wilderness apple pie filling and follow above directions. Enjoy!

Cheddar Garlic Biscuits - use "Pepper Jack" cheese instead of Cheddar to add "Kick" to these already great biscuits. Serve with Mexican Casseroles or Chili.
Cheddar Biscuits make incredible dumplings. Just follow biscuit recipe and then drop by the rounded tablespoon full on top of stew or chicken noodle soup. Reduce heat to lowest setting, cover and let steam and cook for about 30 minutes.
Jalapeno Cheddar Garlic Biscuits - Make biscuit mix as directed. Make your favorite chili (home made or from cans). Pre-heat oven when chili is almost done. Use half of the mix as biscuits and then use the other half by dropping rounded tablespoon full on top of chili. Reduce heat on chili to lowest setting and cover and cook 30 to 35 minutes. Remove lid and sprinkle pepper jack cheese on top and cover for 5 more minutes. Serve chili with sour cream and the hot out of the oven biscuits. Enjoy!
Remember that our scones are designed to be made and eaten warm out of the oven. We DO NOT use any extenders, modifiers, emulsifier or additives that would make the product last several days. Only pure goodness is inside, so enjoy them the day you bake them.
Cranberry White Chocolate Scone - serve with French Vanilla Ice Cream for a fantastic dessert.
Several customers have contacted us and said that replacing the sour cream with the same amount of yogurt gives the same moisture but intensifies the flavor. Some suggestions were using the matching yogurt's for Blueberry  Lemon (either lemon or blueberry yogurt), Lemon White chocolate (lemon yogurt), Orange Dark Chocolate & Cranberry Orange (orange yogurt). Also Greek Yogurt works well and doubles the protein, but a small amount of extra milk must be added because of the thickness of the yogurt.
Lemon White Chocolate and Orange Special Dark Chocolate Scones are also all wonderful served with Vanilla Ice Cream for an unforgettable dessert. Just bake ahead and slightly warm when ready to serve with a scoop of ice cream.
A customer has passed on to us that all the scones can be made with all milk, soy milk or rice milk instead of 1/3 cup milk and 1/3 cup sour cream. she has a child that is very allergic to sour cream and milk, so she uses all rice milk. She suggested to watch to not get them to sticky as the rice or soy milk is thinner then the sour
cream. Just add slightly more flour if needed.
Butter Hint: to cut up the butter in our scone mix, just put the butter in the freezer for 10 minutes and then use a fine cheese grater to shave it over the mix. Stir to mix well. Saves a lot of time and effort cutting in the butter.
"Ultimate" Vanilla Scone Mix
1. Replace all the milk with 1/3 cup Kahlua and add 1/3 cup milk chocolate chips.
2. Replace all the milk with 1/3 cup Crème de Menthe and add 1/3 cup mint chocolate chips.
3. Replace all the milk with 1/3 cup Grand Marnier and add 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips.
All 3 ideas make a wonderful holiday treat for breakfasts, brunches and parties.
German Apple Pancakes - these are wonderful with just butter on them right out of the fry pan. Also incredible with a scoop of whip cream, sour cream, applesauce or sprinkled with powdered sugar. For a very special dinner serve with a scoop of apple pie filling and whip cream on top.
Maple Cinnamon Pancake/Waffle Mix is pure heaven either as a pancake or a crisp waffle. Try them with just butter first as the taste is amazingly good.
Sourdough Pancakes - serve for dinner sprinkled with powdered sugar and a squeeze of lemon juice.
Indian Fry Bread - delicious with honey butter, cinnamon-sugar sprinkled or powdered sugar. Lots of customers just fry and spread with butter to eat with soups, stews and chili. Also serve with scrambled eggs, bacon, shredded cheese and salsa for an incredible breakfast. Try very thick chili with a scoop of sour cream. Our personal favorite is pulled pork with chunky guacamole and sour cream.
We’ve been big fans of Papa Ray’s products for many years. I had a package of your wonderful Huckleberry Pancake Mix in the cupboard but didn’t feel like messing with pancakes. I prepared the mix as per package instructions and sprayed a 10” glass pie plate with cooking spray. Poured prepared mix in; dotted the top with the Huckleberries and swirled lightly. I then sprinkled the top with oatmeal and organic raw sugar. Bake for 25-30 minutes in a 350 degree oven. It was DELICIOUS!!
